Global Conversation Podcast: The Leadership of Cities in Climate Change Mitigation

In the second episode of the Environmental Governance Lab in Conversation Series Erica Wilson and Mohit Bagri breakdown a fascinating talk with former Toronto Mayor David Miller and Professor Sara Hughes as they discuss municipal environmental governance, hosted at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. They discuss the leadership of cities in climate change mitigation and the role municipalities play in national and global agendas. This podcast series features conversations with important public figures whose expertise in environmental and sustainability-related issues sheds light on some of the most pressing issues of our time. The goal is to curate conversations that speak to a broad audience, bridging research with practice and public experience.

This podcast series is produced in partnership with the Environmental Governance Lab at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy which is a research hub that focuses on the development of new ideas and tools to respond to the challenge of environmental governance at multiple scales.

This podcast also received support from the University of Toronto’s School of Cities which convenes urban-focused researchers, educators, students, practitioners, and the general public to explore and address complex urban challenges, with the aim of making cities and urban regions more sustainable, prosperous, inclusive and just.
